The 2016 Vaccines Today Communication Challenge was a big hit this year, inspiring people from all over Europe to visit our site and submit their photos.
The challenge for participants was to send a photo and a story using the hashtag #vaccinepassport, explaining how vaccines had protected them or their loved ones as they embark on life’s adventures.
Tens of thousands of you visited the competition page and more than 40 people took the time to create and share photos and stories. The 20 entries with the most votes made it to the final round where our expert panel of judges chose their favourites.
And the winner is…
- 1st prize of €1,000 goes to Alice Pignatti from Italy.
- 2nd prize of €500 was won by Yolmer Zamuel Afonso Cárdenas from Spain.
- 3rd place was Boris Delire from Belgium.
Alice was the clear winner this year and her remarkable story can be viewed here. It was a very close race for the 2nd and 3rd prizes with just a couple of votes separating 3rd place from those in 4th and 5th.
