‘A new vaccines information website has been launched by the US government in an effort to improve communication on vaccination. ’

Vaccines_siteThe site features original content but also pulls together content from a range of government agencies including the US Department of Health and Human Services, the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, the Food and Drug Administration amongst others.

A glossary of vaccination terms and vaccine-preventable diseases is included, along with background information on the safety of vaccination.

Meanwhile, in Europe, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) has continued to develop its portal on vaccine-preventable diseases, and the WHO Europe has developed an excellent interactive site as part of the European Immunization Week campaign.

On top of this, private initiatives like make it clear that online dialogue on vaccination is growing – and changing to include a broader spectrum of voices.
