Originally from Italy, Silvia Romeo is a Policy Officer at the European Cancer Organisation, a Brussels-based not-for-profit federation of member organisations working in cancer at a European level.
Silvia is passionate about European affairs, and she has solid expertise in EU health policy, with a focus on cancer prevention, vaccination and women’s health. She has previous experience working at, and collaborating with, EU affairs agencies, NGOs, patients organisations, EU/national institutions and industries.
She has engaged in several activities related to the topic of vaccination such as participating as finalist to the Vaccine Hesitancy Hackathon at the 2019 European Health Forum Gastein. Moreover, Silvia is a member of the Young Coalition for Prevention and Vaccination (YC4PV) led by ThinkYoung which brings together European HCPs to advocate, engage and inform young people on the important value of vaccination.
Silvia holds a Double Degree Masters in Politics and International Relations from the LUISS University in Rome and from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB).
