Jeroen Luyten

Jeroen Luyten holds a master degree in economics from the University of Antwerp and a master degree in philosophy from the Catholic University of Leuven. He is preparing a PhD at the Centre for Health Economics Research and Modeling Infectious Diseases (CHERMID) of the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Institute (VAXINFECTIO) at the University of Antwerp.
His research is primarily in public health ethics with a specific focus on two themes: (1) justice in vaccination policy: how do individual rights and societal duties balance in infectious disease prevention and what are the boundaries of state intervention? (2) Fairness in the allocation of scarce health care resources: what is the normative value of cost-effectiveness analysis and does prevention require a special approach?
