“For us, teaching is in our DNA – along with research and public health – and we are embracing this new, modern tool that can increase the audience for our courses.”

The course will be delivered by some of the biggest names in vaccinology. It is designed for people with a background in medicine or science but is open to anyone.

Participants for the well-established face-to-face course run by the Institute are carefully selected based on experience, qualifications and letters of recommendation.

“For a MOOC it’s completely different,” explains Armelle Phalipon, co-founder of the course. “Anyone can connect and follow the course. We recommend that they have some basic knowledge of biology but they will decide for themselves if this is the right course for them.”
